Purpose of role

Our lawyers work on the full spectrum of corporate transactions, from strategic planning through due diligence to post-closing integration. We are located in offices across the globe, offering seamless and integrated solutions to our clients.

We now have an opportunity for an Associate/Senior Associate to join the London Corporate transactional team. The successful candidate will develop their expertise in a team that has deep sector knowledge and far-reaching experience in advising global, national and emerging companies.

Maximising on our global presence and local expertise, you will connect with colleagues throughout the firm globally and predominately work on Equity Capital Markets transactions (both Main and AIM markets), and also, if desired, have the flexibility to act on a range of corporate transactions including M&A, private equity and venture capital. You will work within a wide variety of sectors including real estate, energy, transport and infrastructure, financial services, insurance and TMT.

You will maintain client relationships, contribute to business development and thought leadership, raising your own profile and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

The role would be ideal for a 4-6+ year PQE lawyer.

Required experience, skills and attributes

You will take a lead role on a wide range of corporate transactional and advisory mandates, working with colleagues within Corporate and elsewhere to deliver a first class client service. In addition you will be accountable for:

  • Building and maintaining client relationships and proactively developing new ones
  • Contributing to business development
  • Coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team
  • Contributing to thought leadership and raising the profile of the firm externally
  • Providing pragmatic and innovative client solutions

The role will be particularly attractive to applicants who wish to increase their exposure to and direct experience of more significant corporate transactions and cross-border work for blue chip clients.

Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge of corporate transactional work
  • 4-6+ PQE 
  • Ability to work with a degree of independence where appropriate
  • Project management and team working
  • Exceptional drafting skills and legal research ability
  • Strong academic record, including a degree or equivalent
  • Strong financial, commercial and business awareness
  • Ability to manage change by taking ownership for resolving problems pro-actively
  • Ability to contribute to and participate in client pitches
